PNB says transferred 1,415 employees since 19 February
Punjab National Bank has dismissed reports that it has transferred close to 18,000 employees in the aftermath of the Rs11,400 crore PNB fraud
New Delhi: Punjab National Bank (PNB) has transferred 1415 employees since 19 February, the bank said in a statement on Thursday, dismissing reports that it has transferred close to 18,000 employees in the aftermath of the Rs11,400 crore PNB fraud.
“The bank has transferred 257 sub staff, 437 clerks and 721 officers since 19th February 2018, as per prevailing rotational transfer policy of the bank. The working in the branches is going on smoothly and the above transfers are in no way affecting the customer service in the bank," the bank said.
The bank has been under the scanner after one of its employees, who had been not transferred for more than seven years in contravention with the transfer policy, was accused of colluding with Nirav Modi and Mehul Choksi group firms leading to the Rs11,400 crore PNB fraud.
