Coimbatore: In a bid to curb question paper leakages, the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) here has developed and installed a new Intruder Alarm System.
The system will help to maintain confidentiality in the setting of question papers, evaluation of answer papers and declaration of results, making the paper leakage a thing of the past, claimed TNAU Vice-Chancellor, Dr. C. Ramasamy.
The security system for preventing paper leakage and related crimes was the first of its kind in any of the agricultural universities, he said.
The electronic security system has an automatic vigilance camera, electronic locking system, smoke detector, vibration detector and an alarm, he said.
In the event of an intruder breaking into the office of the Controller of Examinations, the alarm would be triggered. In turn the auto dialer connected with the control panel would automatically dial up the programmed phone numbers of the Controller and security office within two seconds, he said.
To create a safe environment, the system, with alarms, sensors and closed circuit television, has been integrated with the office of the Controller.
In case of any break-in, the easy to install, operate and tamper-proof system, would be able to recreate clearly the actual sequence of events, he said.
