Mumbai:Tata Motors Ltd on Friday reported a 23% decline in sale of commercial and passenger vehicles for July.
The company sold 39,623 vehicles in July compared with 51,549 in the corresponding month a year ago. Tata Motors’ domestic sales declined 25% to 35,256 units.
Sales of commercial vehicles dropped 28% to 26,089 vehicles, the company said. It sold 9,167 passenger vehicles in July, 15% lower compared with a year ago.
Exports grew 2% to 4,367 vehicles for the month.
On Friday, shares of Tata Motors dropped 1.66% to close at ₹ 439.50 apiece on BSE, while the benchmark Sensex fell 1.6% to end at 25,480.84 points.
