New Delhi: The Telenor Group has been ranked the best Mobile Telecom company in the world by the Sustainability Yearbook 2008.
The methodology employed to zero in on the winning candidate is exhaustive. PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Sustainable Asset Management (SAM) invite 2,500 of the largest companies based on the Dow Jones Global Index every year to participate in SAM Corporate Sustainability Assessment.
Telenor Group tops as best Mobile Telecom company
The company was awarded both titles for the Mobile Telecom sector, SAM Sector Leader and SAM Sector Mover. It won for managing risk deriving from sector-specific economic, environmental and social developments but more for improving its sustainability performance the most since 2007.
Telenor is one of the fastest growing providers of mobile communications services worldwide with ownership interests in 12 mobile operators across Europe and Asia. It is also the largest provider of TV services in the Nordic region.
