Tiruchirapalli: Sharp Info Solutions, a Sharp group company, is expanding its services in medical transcription and healthcare BPO sectors.
The company with an employee strength of about 400, would need at least 1000 employees before March 2008, the company’s Manager (production) R Natarajan told reporters here today.
The Coimbatore-based company is associated with CBay Systems, a US-based medical transcription company. In December 2005, they acquired a major medical transcription unit at Coimbatore with 60 employees along with its clientele.
Last year the turnover was ₹ 5 crore plus and for the current year the target was ₹ 8 crore. At present one lakh lines of transcription are produced, which would increase to 2.5 lakh lines by March 2008 with the advent of additional employees and continuous on the job training model, he said.
The company started a franchisee model in 2006 to convert rural areas into IT hubs, providing employment opportunities in the home towns itself, Natarajan said.
Sharp currently has three training franchisees and plans are on to set up franchisees in various towns in Kerala and Tamil Nadu before 2010, he said.
The company is supported by its US headquartered “Sharp Info Inc." based at Texas which looks after marketing and strategic analysis of front-end operations, he said.
Sharp Info has acquired medscript, one of the leading transcription companies in Louisina. “We are on the verge of acquiring at least a couple of companies in the US within a short time frame," said Natarajan.
