New Delhi: The Delhi University website is all set to become more user-friendly, donning a new look and design to provide maximum information to browsers.
The revamped website, to be launched on 3 May, will allow students to access more academic information and download the material.
“The website will have a whole new look and design apart from being more student-friendly with many new options for students to browse for information and links,” a university official said.
The university has added an e-learning portal on its website for students to access the course-related details on the Internet.
“The university subscribes to a number of electronic journals. With the help of the UGC-Infonet-Inflibnet consortium, electronic subscriptions to a collection of the world’s most prestigious journals have become accessible to users throughout the university,” the official said.
The university has recently upgraded its Information and Communication Technology (ICT) network with the establishment of a dedicated wireless link between North and South campuses.
As many as 64 off-campus colleges have been linked through the wireless network.
“The network has subsequently been upgraded with the help of an additional grant of Rs two crore from the Ministry of Human Resources Development,” the official said.
The university has also provided 40 computers each to its under-graduate colleges for use by students.
