NTPC commissions 2,255 megawatt power capacity in fiscal 2016
National Thermal Power Corporation says its total output has reached 46.6 gigawatt
New Delhi: State-owned power utility National Thermal Power Corp. Ltd (NTPC) said on Monday it has commissioned 2,255 megawatt (MW) power capacity this financial year, taking its total output to 46.6 gigawatt (GW).
The incremental capacity is added through plants in Himachal Pradesh, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Maharashtra.
With this, NTPC’s total installed capacity has touched 46,653 MW. A company statement said a capacity of over 23,000 MW is under different phases of completion. The company aims at having a power generation capacity of 128 GW by 2032.
