New DelhiL: IT services company HCL Technologies on 27 June said it will shortly open its second outsourcing facility in Europe in Krakow, Poland.
The delivery centre in Poland, expected to be operational by next month, would initially employ 100 people, to go up to 250 by the end of this year, a company statement said.
“We are seeing expansion of the types of services being outsourced to India. They often want somebody on the ground and from the local market and we’ve been able to provide that very successfully from our Northern Ireland facility,” HCL Great Britain President Rajeev Swahney said in the statement.
“To have Indian companies investing in Europe is a testament to the quality of our universities and our workforce and we look forward to expansion of the HCL facility and the jobs that it brings to the local marketplace,” Krakow Mayor Jacek Majchrowski said.
The company presently has a similar delivery centre in Northern Ireland which employs 2,300 workers.
