LeEco clocks Rs100 crore revenue in India from one-day online global sale
Out of the global sales, India contributed Rs100 crore in sales that included 70,000 smartphones, 2,000 televisions and close to 20,000 electronic accessories
New Delhi: Beijing-based LeEco (formerly known as Letv), which sells smartphones, television and electronic accessories, clocked Rs.100 crore in revenue in India from its one-day online global sale, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.
The online sale, EPIC 919, took place on 19 September. LeEco’s products in India were available on e-commerce website Flipkart as well as the company’s portal LeMall.com; the most popular products were smartphone model Le 2 and television model Super3 X55.
The sale was extended by 24 hours due to high user demand, said the company.
Out of the global sales of 866,000 televisions and 1.178 million phones that clocked revenue of Rs.5,200 crore across India, China and Hong Kong, India contributed Rs.100 crore in sales that included 70,000 smartphones, 2,000 televisions and close to 20,000 electronic accessories.
“We’re thrilled to bring it (LeEco shopping sale) to India this year and are overwhelmed by the encouraging user response. In line with the global record-breaking sales performance, we’ve achieved incredible sales milestones in India as well,” said Atul Jain, chief operating officer, smart electronic devices, LeEco.
Founded in November 2004 by Jia Yueting and Liu Hong, LeEco is a listed company that employs more than 14,000 people and has a market capitalization of more than $12 billion.
