Smokers who have found it difficult to kick the habit may now be shaken out of their craving thanks to a vibratory acupressure technique that is expected to be tried out in two government hospitals in Delhi and its tobacco-cessation clinics.
A unit has already been placed at the Aruna Asaf Ali Hospital and Delhi health minister Kiran Walia says the government has set up a committee to look into the scientific evidence behind the manufacturer’s claims. If the committee agrees to introduce the machine, says Walia, it will be tried out in two government hospitals and then in other government tobacco-cessation clinics in the Capital.
