Still
Now the universe takes its last breath
and the black holes have stitched themselves
the dust in the void comes to a halt
and the planets slow to zero
The skies are in last session and the suns
queue for the most appointed of hours
to the funereal hum of rumor
that it is no god that will come
When the heavens themselves are cheated
and we know we lie unjudged
I turn to you, unlikely keeper,
Where deep inside
the stars are still alive
