Graceful gift from Monaco

Few can aspire to be stars. Fewer manage to marry royalty. Grace Kelly managed to do both, retaining her aura of glamour and dignity in her classic style. No wonder we still associate the principality of Monaco—where she was Her Serene Highness—with Kelly. In deference to her abiding star power, the Columbus Monaco (www.columbushotels.com) created a cocktail, Grace, in 2007, sourcing flowers from the Princess Grace Rose Garden, home to 4,000 bushes of 150 rose varieties. During a recent promotion in Delhi, the rose-flavoured cocktail was quite the star of the show.

We can’t take you to Monaco, but here’s how you can concoct your own Grace cocktail: Place half a teaspoon of rose crystals in a conical champagne glass and cool the glass in the freezer. Once the crystals are frozen, add one centilitre of rose liqueur and top it up with champagne. Your Grace cocktail is ready.
