Who should and should not wear high-waisted trousers?
High-waisted trousers are a great option for those who want to give the illusion of having long legs. But if you have a short torso, then high-waisted trousers will shorten it even further. They should be worn by women who have a more or less proportionate leg to torso ratio. They also look much better on slimmer and taller women. Women with large hips should leave their shirt or top untucked, because if left out, the hips look slimmer.
Are patent leather accessories acceptable in office? Are there any other similar options?
Patent leather accessories depend on what kind of clothing you can wear to work. For a formal workplace, subtle patent detailing on accessories is okay. If you think it’s too bold for you in the day, try crocodile or alligator leathers (faux options are widely available). They look just as rich, have more texture, but are not as flashy as patent. But, in this case, make sure your shoes and belt match.
What kinds of swimwear can I wear to conceal large hips?
If you want to conceal large hips, it’s better to wear a two-piece swimsuit instead of a one-piece suit. Wear one that has a high-cut leg—it appears to lengthen the legs. Keep the colours similar to your skin tone; opt for shades of orange and rust. The colours of the top and bottom should not be in sharp contrast, neither should the colour of the swimsuit be completely opposite to your skin colouring—that will just make it stand out more. Also, stay away from large prints, smaller ones are preferable. Remember, boy shorts make your hips look wider.
