Tapping into the power of the Internet, three friends from business school decided to forgo the usually path most people take when starting a home accessory store. Rather than actually founding a store, Maya Hari, Jasmine Jhaveri, and Shraddha Kadakia focused their efforts on creating a website. In August, www.stylkist.com hit the World Wide Web with the goal of bringing “a sense of inspiration and style to your favourite space". The site offers the Stylkist product line, which for now sticks to home accessories such as pillows, vases and candles. But Hari says they see themselves as a lifestyle company and will include furniture down the line. For customers who want to see the real deal and not just a cyber Stylkist product line, a few home product stores, such as Boutique Turquoise in Mumbai, will carry the line. The best part of the site is the ease with which products can be delivered almost everywhere in India.
