Choosing the right location for that all- important meeting with a boss or an informative session with a co-worker is a fine art that can yield productive results
We have read about how wonderfully well different wines can be paired with specific foods. Robust red wines go very well with meat dishes, for instance, and crisp white wines are generally a wonderful accompaniment to light seafood. Some of us also pride ourselves on our ability to pair the right jackets with trousers, or handbags with our choice of formal or party dress. We must now take forward this train of thought to the important conversations we engage in within our offices, and the places we conduct them in.
Vital office conversations can cover many diverse areas, such as performance feedback, promotions or the lack of them, new projects and investments, brand advertising, resolving a conflict between people, or even a confidential chat about the sloppy new factory manager. Typically people tend to conduct these discussions in drab cubicles, cabins or conference rooms. But this is not optimal. Every discussion requires the right environment, mood and atmosphere to produce the best results. Go ahead, get out of your cubicle, and check out these “talking spots".
