Not again: Sharapova wants to forget her US Open loss
This year it’s Caroline Wozniacki; last year, it was Melanie Oudin who beat Maria Sharapova in the US Open. At the beginning of the tournament, the Russian glamour girl faced the uncomfortable question over last year’s defeat.
When asked whether she had any memories from that loss, she replied: “Why do we need to remember that one?”
The 18-year-old Oudin, who is 8 inches shorter than the 6ft 2 inches tall Sharapova, faced the inevitable question about her height this year, which is still increasing. “5’6”,” she replied. “At least that’s what the doctor told me. But people tell me that I only look 5’5?and a half. I’m going with 5’6”.”
