Winter Mela

Dastkar’s winter mela brings together textiles, food, spices, aromatic oils and other produce from around the world, including countries such as Afghanistan, Mongolia, Nepal and Peru. Folk dancers from Rajasthan, as well as Uttarakhand’s Garhwal and Kumaon regions, are performing at the mela.

Dastangoi Festival—Celebrating 10 Years of Dastangoi

Produced by screenwriter and director Anusha Rizvi and conceptualized by writer-artiste Mahmood Farooqui, this festival celebrates the art of Urdu storytelling, or dastangoi. The line-up includes Dastan-e-Sedition, by dastangos Rajesh Kumar and Rana Sanger, and Dastan Alice Ki by Ankit Chadha and Poonam Girdhani. Dastan-e-Sedition is based on the life of health activist Binayak Sen and Dastan Alice Ki on Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland and Through The Looking-Glass, And What Alice Found There.

British actor Sylvester McCoy, best known for playing an eccentric wizard in The Hobbit, and Rob Denbleyker, author of Cyanide & Happiness, will be coming for the fifth edition of the Mumbai Film And Comic Con. American comic book writer and screenwriter Joe Harris will be in attendance too. The two-day event will include comic book launches and cosplay, and a zone that will offer the arcade game Star Wars: Battle Pod, based on the franchise Star Wars.
