Round off your Christmas day celebrations with Turkey Lunch and unlimited wine and beer. The elaborate spread will include Turkey Galantine with Cranberry, Sage and Balsamic Sauce. Also try the Five Spice Roast Duck with Ginger Orange Sauce. “This year, we are planning a whole stuffed roasted turkey that might weigh up to 8kg,” says chef Manndar Sukhantar. There will be an active carving station, featuring roasted honey and cinnamon glazed turkey as well as barbecued pork shoulder. Celebrations will include carols sung by a live band.

Kids can get their hair braided, get a caricature drawn or just play interactive games that have been organized for the day.

There’s a treat for the kids at Ista where a magician, caricature artist and live carol band will be a part of Christmas brunch. The menu includes Butter Ball Turkey, plum pudding and various bakes. “We’ve kept the dishes traditional because we’d like to keep the spirit of Christmas intact. We do not want to make them (patrons) uncomfortable with our versions on a day of tradition,” says chef Subroto Goswami.

Olive Beach
Olive Beach is celebrating 12 days of Christmas that will end with a grand Christmas- day brunch. The brunch will include Plumped Turkey with Stuffing in Gravy. There will also be rabbit, honey roasted ham, pork and a separate sea food station. Vegetarians won’t be disappointed either: the menu includes Spiced Pumpkin Soup and a Winter Vegetable Bake. “When I designed the menu, I wondered what would make the perfect Christmas brunch for me, and that’s what we will present,” says chef Manu Chandra. Look out for carollers adding some extra cheer with performances at individual tables.

Smoke House Grill
If killer cocktails are your idea of fun, head for Smoke House Grill this festive season and try Smoke House Aphro Shots (Smirnoff with fresh oysters), Sinful Chocolate Martini (chocolate liqueur, Hershey’s chocolate with Smirnoff) and Honeydew (Midori and Brut). The restaurant plans to hold a 10-day Christmas festival. Special dishes on the menu include soup of roasted pumpkin and pecan nut biscotti, smoked tenderloin carpaccio and smoked oyster salad in the salad and appetiser section. For the main course, you can opt for the traditional Roast Turkey Roulade with red cabbage sourcrout and cranberry glaze, or the grilled tenderloin steak with onion mushroom flan and pink peppercorn crisps. And since no festive meal is complete without desserts, the restaurant offers a choice between grilled homemade bread butter pudding, caramelized banana and Christmas pudding with brandy sauce.
Price: Cocktails start at Rs350 plus taxes. A meal for two with a soup, starter, main course and dessert will cost around Rs2,500 plus taxes.

Café Uno, Shangri La
Celebrate with a traditional Christmas brunch at Cafe Uno where the focus is on family. The Christmas buffet will include traditional dishes such as roast turkey, smoked salmon and fruit cake. A special activity centre, with a tattoo artist and a painting zone, will be set up for children and Santa Claus will distribute gifts. A live band, Silhouttee Trio, is set to perform. Make sure you get your children to check out the gingerbread house in the lobby. It has been made using 8,253 tiles of cookies.
