Metanota for Mac OS X is a note-syncing app that works with Simplenote, a popular online note-taking service. Metanota organizes the notes you’ve made with Simplenote, and synchronizes them so all your devices can keep up-to-date on the notes.

The app runs in three frames, familiar to anyone who has used Outlook email. The left pane shows your folders, the middle shows the notes in the selected folder, and the right pane shows the note currently open. You can sort and organize these like you would emails, and can search for notes, or text within notes.

The cloud features include easy sharing of notes via email, and automatic syncing every 20 seconds, making regular backups while you are online.

Metanota is free to use, but runs with ads. A paid version is also available for $3.99 (or Rs 210).
