Despite the proliferation of cloud services which can improve the functioning of large organizations, there has not been much enterprise adoption of the cloud, according to Cross-Tab, an international market research outsourcing rm.
To understand why, it carried out research with a sister rm, Blueocean, a next-generation communication services organization.
This included online primary research among consumers (900 interviews in the US, Germany and India, with 300 people being surveyed in each country), in-depth interviews of cloud vendors by analysts, market and vendor tracking, and social media analysis. e interviews were conducted in March-April.
In India the survey, conducted in big cities, included 74% full-time employees in metros and 9% students, as well as freelancers and homemakers. What it found was that low awareness of the cloud in India is due to a host of factors:
