Bold patterns are the flavour of the season at Moon River. The store stocks glass and kitchenware from LSA, Poland, and has recently introduced a series of articles under the Easy Glamour collection. “The latest collection at Moon River brings forth products that create visions of gracious entertaining, rewarding gift-giving and pleasures of the home,” says Radhika Gupta, owner of the store. The collection is said to encapsulate a feeling of effortless elegance, hence the name.
A set of four espresso cups in different shades decked with shiny platinum coloured polka dots (Rs3,046) emphasizes a sense of stylish playfulness, as do the Martini glasses (Rs1,006 per glass), which have a platinum strip along the rim.
A set of four jazz champagne flute glasses (Rs5,545) have interesting and different patterns in black—if one has a thin spiral strip encasing the outer surface, another has tiny elliptical black petals on it. The Calypso tumbler (Rs575 per piece) is a whisky glass that has a black circular area at the bottom, with a distinct hologram effect. As you tilt the glass, you notice thin slivers of illuminated shapes reminiscent of autumn leaves that will perhaps appear more fascinating under the influence of alcohol. It is also available in red, green and turquoise.
The Ciro salad bowl (Rs3,890) is beautifully voluptuous in white china with small holes opposite each other near the rim, which means you can wrap your fingers around it for a stronger grip as opposed to having to cup the bowl with your palms. The range includes giant vases, oil and vinegar bottles, decoration items and liquor flasks, among others. Moon River has stores in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore.
