Google’s social network Google+ now allows businesses to create “Pages” much like Facebook. Earlier, it was just for individuals, and only allowed people to create user IDs using their real names.
Companies such as PepsiCo Inc. and Toyota Motor Sales Inc., along with websites like Mashable Inc., already have pages on Google+.
For brands, this is obviously an important development, but for individuals too the presence of brands will create greater activity on Google+ and perhaps drive up the number of users on the network. The reaction to Google+ so far had been that the new network looked great and worked well, but had little content.
