Wood is not lacklustre brown in Preetha Kannan’s canvasses. In these works of mixed media at her ongoing solo show, Dreamweaver, in Delhi, Kannan uses colour and light generously to convey beauties of nature—the colours of autumn, not just orange but also pink, yellow and a brilliant green; or the illusion of sunlight dappling through leaves. The artist seems to be inviting the viewer for a picnic under the shadow of trees. The exhibition is being presented by Gallery Beyond.
(At Visual Arts Gallery, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. Until 11 October)
