In search of a pair of bongo drums? How about a llama, and a couple of penguins? Luxury concierge services frequently entertain bizarre requests (all true, and yes, all were found), though it is for the more pedestrian demands—tickets to a sold-out concert, access to off-limit locations—that these services come in most handy. London-based Quintessentially, whose annual fee starts at Rs60,000 and touches around Rs20 lakh, offers members access to an impressive range of tailored services, including procurement of rare wine, access to art fairs, luxury transport, limited edition gifts, bespoke travel services (training as a spy is a possibility), and even a private island (the company has its own). Non-members can subscribe to individual services, such as Quintessentially Wine, Quintessentially Escape, etc., or get the whole basket for an annual membership fee. Though the London office will manage clients from India, the company does plan to open a local office later this year.
Closer home, Mumbai-based Emmanuel Balayer Consultancy Services Pvt. Ltd offers bespoke lifestyle management and networking services for a largely corporate clientele. For a price, Balayer can ferry clients through the Cannes red carpet, secure front-row seats at Paris Fashion Week, and double as a luxury broker for properties in Switzerland, France and Italy.
