Fifty-two steel posts, each 10ft tall, will be erected at Hyde Park in memory of those killed during the suicide bombings of 7 July 2005 in London. The final design for the memorial was unveiled last week. The pillars will be grouped in four linked clusters to reflect the attacks on three trains and a bus. A plaque listing the victims’ names will be placed on a grass bank near the memorial. Work on the monument is expected to start later this year for an official unveiling on 7 July 2009. (Reuters)
