Packaged excursions are often maligned for being soulless, hurried schemes, where travellers are herded from point to point as they tick off a list of to-dos.
Castle in the air: Wildflower Hall is one of the stops on Oberoi’s luxury package tours.
But, the India in Luxury packages from Oberoi Hotels and Resorts will shred that impression to bits.
Gone are the crammed hotels, “tourist” class tickets and inevitable “group therapy”. Instead, the Oberois will lavish personalized attention at every step of your journey as you go roughing it around the country from one Oberoi property to the next.
And no, you don’t have to take a sabbatical from work to live it up. Packages are available in several configurations: Two snappy little nine-day formats, a luxurious 14-day format and a whopping “I’m the CEO, try telling me not to take leave” 22-day itinerary for that discerning traveller who has middle-management colleagues to take care of the office.
The packages start from Mumbai and can go all the way to Shimla, depending on your itinerary. En route, you could also drop in at Udaipur, Jaipur, Agra, and try to get a glimpse of those tigers at Ranthambore. You stay at the finest Oberoi hotels, including Udaivilas and Wildflower Hall.
Most flights are business class, and your trip will be managed by luxury experience managers at each hotel and resort. The Oberois will spare no expense on your trips, primarily because you won’t either. The details:
Itinerary 1 (14 days: Mumbai, Udaipur, Jaipur, Delhi, Agra): Rs4.45 lakh.
Itinerary 2 (nine days: Mumbai, Udaipur, Delhi, Agra): Rs3 lakh.
Itinerary 3 (nine days: Mumbai, Jaipur, Delhi, Agra): Rs3 lakh.
Itinerary 4 (22 days: Mumbai, Udaipur, Jaipur, Ranthambore, Agra, Delhi, Shimla): Rs6.8 lakh.
Fares are inclusive of transport within India, meals, guide and entrance charges, and taxes.
