Since the inaugural Olympics in Athens in 1896, the organizing committee of each edition of the games has published an Official Report upon the conclusion of the games. The report serves to chronicle events leading up to the games and the execution of the games as well. The reports, especially the older ones, are eye-openers into the world of sports and international relations and are often illustrated with rare photographs.
The LA 84 Foundation based in Los Angeles uses surplus funds from the 1984 Olympics to run several sports education and coaching programmes. The foundation also houses several sports and Olympics history-related documents, including official Olympics reports, which are accessible from the foundation website.
