Jolicloud is one of the fancier Linux distributions designed for netbooks. At around 600MB, it’s not the smallest. The interface looks very much like some of the fancier phone/PDA interfaces. The use of fine lines and colourful icons on a black background on a compact netbook screen make it very appealing. The OS can be run as a Live OS on a USB drive and can also be installed on a flash drive. Performance is good.
Jolicloud is not just a cloud-based OS. Applications are available locally and many more, including Web-based ones, can be downloaded easily. With these, you can now open up your Twitter and Facebook as applications rather than websites. The end result is a very interactive, yet very usable computing experience.
