The Vellus Aureum prize is awarded by Ermenegildo Zegna annually to the best fine wools from Australia, New Zealand, Argentina and South Africa. And by fine we mean ultra-fine: 13.9 microns or less (normal wool is 15 microns and above). The prize-winning wool is used to make 50 suits a year, (each takes six months to deliver). The last time we checked, no one from India had ordered one yet.
