French tableware brand Villeroy & Boch has launched a new collection of plates, saucers, cutlery, bowls and other tableware called ‘NewWave’. This collection is available in both china and glass and the product design shuns the traditional circular or square rims in favour of sweeping wavy outlines.
The collection includes several ranges. The NewWave Premium range consists of products for daily use, such as a salad bowl in glass (Rs900), or an espresso cup in china (Rs2,200 per piece). The NewWave Ocean range includes oyster-shaped platters in china (a deep plate costs Rs1,500). The NewWave Premium Platinum and Premium Gold collections boast of grey and golden outlines on the rims, respectively (the prices start at Rs1,000 per piece). The NewWave Caffe range is trendy and contemporary (a set of six cups starts at Rs8,500), and includes funky product innovations. A must see: the saucers labelled as party platters which can also be used to serve snacks. Villeroy & Boch products are available at their signature stores at Churchgate in Mumbai and Punjagutta Road and Somajigudda in Hyderabad.
The company plans to open new stores in New Delhi, Kolkata and Bangalore by the end of the year.
