On today’s show, we talk to Jaya Jaitly, president of Dastkari Haat Samiti that has put together an ambitious project in Calligraphy, AKSHARA: Crafting Indian Scripts. Over 140 exhibits covering 14 languages and scripts from various states of India, will be on display at the India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, from 16th to the 21st of September.
Jaitly talks to us about the state of calligraphy in India, the vast scope it has and how a little encouragement to the dwindling crafts community can go a long way.
