Roma Food and Wine Festival

Rome, Italy | 29 Nov–1 Dec

Twenty chefs and 60 wine makers will be a part of this annual extravaganza that takes place on the top floor of Eataly restaurant. In its third edition this year, the festival aims to bring together two things the Italians love—haute cuisine and fine wine—in a beautiful setting. The wine-tasting sessions will be led by a leading expert on Italian and international wines.

Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt

Nuremberg, Germany | 29 Nov-24 Dec

Winters in Nuremberg come alive with this traditional, nearly one-month-long festival before Christmas. Held in the city’s main market square, this event dates back to the mid-16th century and is one of the oldest festivals in this part of the world. More than 180 decorated stalls are put up, showcasing and selling ornaments, toys and other Christmassy things. Mulled wine, hot chocolate, gingerbread and bratwurst, all offer the warmth that you need while browsing through the market stalls. National Cherry Festival

Young, New South Wales, Australia | 5-7 Dec

Known as the cherry capital of Australia, Young hosts the National Cherry Festival each year. In its 65th edition this year, the three-day event will include the National Cherry Festival parade, Christmas street market, cherry pip spitting competition, cherry pie eating contest, farmers’ markets and lots more. With a real countryside atmosphere, and a lead up to Christmas festivities, it is bound to be fun.

Fiera Di a Castagna—Chestnut festival

Chestnuts are the most important harvest from this region of France and it is no surprise then that the locals have a fair dedicated to this produce. With more than 20,000 visitors each year, it is an important event in their calendar. The fair aims to promote local agriculture and culture. Regional chestnut flour contest, talks and conferences around its cultivation are a part of the three-day event. Grilled chestnuts, wine bars and live music add to the festive spirit.

Palm Beach Island was founded in early 1900s. Most of the year, this island houses some 10,500 people, with the number growing nearly three times to 30,000 in the winters.
