New Delhi: Edible oils prices firmed up on the wholesale oils and oilseeds market on 19 March on increased offtake by stockists amid fear of a fall in the production and closed with gains.
However, non-edible oils prices remained flat on small buying and selling activity.
Marketmen said better offtake by stockist against reduced arrivals from producing belts mainly pushed up edible oil prices. They added that fear of a fall in production of mustardseed, soybean, sunflowerseed and groundnut was the main reason behind price rise in edible oil prices.
In edible oil section, groundnut mill delivery and soybean refined mill delivery prices rose by Rs50 each at Rs6,650 and Rs4,650 a quintal respectively.
Mustard expeller and sunflower oils too gained from Rs4,470 and Rs4,000 to finish at Rs4,490 and Rs4,030 a quintal respectively.
