Mumbai: The rupee ended weaker against the dollar on Thursday due to a late demand for the US currency in the second half of trade.
The Indian currency ended at 54.94 per dollar down from Wednesday’s close of 54.84 per dollar. It had opened strongly at 54.78 per dollar.
Trade was thin as many dealers were on leave for the year end.
