BackBSE, S&P joint venture launches two new indices

Mumbai: Asia Index Pvt. Ltd (AIPL), a joint venture between S&P Dow Jones Indices Llc and BSE Ltd, said on Monday it has launched two more indices—the S&P BSE Sensex Futures index and S&P BSE CPSE (central public sector enterprises) index.
The S&P BSE Sensex Futures index will help investors track the returns generated from investments in the near-month futures contract on S&P BSE Sensex traded on BSE, it said in a release.
The second index will track CPSEs—excluding public sector banks—where the direct holding of the central government equals or exceeds 51%.
The S&P BSE CPSE index is calculated on a real time basis while the S&P BSE Sensex Futures index is calculated on an end-of-day basis, the index company added.
