US markets end mixed; Asia opens higher

US stocks closed mixed on Wednesday as investors digested a number of economic data, including minutes from the US Federal Reserve’s November meeting.

Asia markets opened higher on Friday, amid a lack of direction from the US markets that were shut Thursday for Thanksgiving.

Demonetisation: Exchange of old notes stopped from today

The government has stopped over-the-counter exchange of demonetized Rs500 and Rs1,000 currency notes starting on Friday, but extended the use of only old Rs500 notes for payment of utility bills, school fees and mobile phone recharges up to a limit until 15 December.
