New Delhi: Gold prices moved up by Rs10 to set a new peak of Rs11,030 per ten gram on the bullion market on 4 January, influenced by firming trend in international markets.
Marketmen said the overseas market failed to leave a complete impact here as the dollar lost further ground against leading currencies.
They said gold for February delivery on the Comex division of the New York Mercantile Exchange traded at $866.80 an ounce, after touching $872.90 on 3 January-- highest for the most-active contract since 21 January, 1980 when futures touched a record $873.
