Decoupling used to be the buzzword describing the outperformance of emerging markets vis-à-vis those in the developed world.

This year, however, the US market has done far better than most emerging markets and certainly better than the much-vaunted Bric (Brazil, Russia, India and China) markets. And this has happened in spite of much stronger growth in emerging markets.
