Hindustan Copper to decide on smelter soon
Mumbai: The state-run Hindustan Copper Ltd will decide by the end of November if it wants to re-open its smelter in Rajasthan, closed since December 2008, its chairman and managing director said on Friday.
“If we decide to open the smelter at Khetri it will take us one year and some 400 million ($9 million) rupees. That’s why we are not in a tearing hurry," Shakeel Ahmed told Reuters.
“But by the end of the month we will take a decision."
