How do I select a debt fund for the long term? Is it better to invest in an equity fund for the long term than a debt fund?
Dr Navin
It largely depends on the economic cycle and there is no universal formula for it. However, in the present scenario it would be better to go in for an equity fund for the long term as equity markets are likely to give better returns.
I have 50 shares of Jet Airways Ltd at Rs564, I have a six month horizon, shall I hold or exit? I also have 50 shares of MTNL at Rs75.12, what should I do? Further, I want to invest another Rs 50,000 in equity markets. What are your short term (six months) and long term (3-4 years) recommendations?
Jeetu
Based on technical analysis, I think you should hold Jet Airways Ltd at current levels and should plan to exit around Rs620 if you have a six month target. Regarding MTNL you should hold. If out of Rs50,000 you want to invest 50% in the short term and 50% in long term, then Yes Bank Ltd and 3i Infotech Ltd are recommended respectively.
I have 35 shares of Torrent Pharma Ltd at Rs433 and 65 shares of ABG Shipyard Ltd at Rs237. I want to know how much time it will take to recover my money or to make some profit in these stocks?
Ankit Seth
For Torrent Pharma Ltd you may have to wait for around two months to hit your purchase price while in less than a month or so you might be able to reach your buy levels in ABG Shipyard Ltd.
