New Delhi: Punjab National Bank has taken the initiative to install North India’s first biometric ATM at the Chhapraula village Branch of Distt. Gautam Budh Nagar earlier this week.
K.C Chakrabarty, CMD of the bank while inaugurating the ATM said, “Our effort is to constantly upgrade services to rural customers and strengthen our relationship with them. This initiative will help illiterate and semi-literate customers by helping them to withdraw cash, make balance enquiry and get mini statement with the facility of voice guidance.
Ideal for India’s rural masses, it has a user-friendly screen flow with an extended Any Time banking facility.
The bank has also completed its first phase of financial inclusion of village Hathipur Khera,a village in service area of Chhapraula in Gautam Budh Nagar Distt UP. By opening accounts of minimum one member of each household of the village they would soon cover all family members of this village and adjoining six villages too.
