Sensex gains as recent laggards rebound

Mumbai: The Sensex rose on Friday helped by select buying in recent under performers such as ITC Ltd and Larsen and Toubro Ltd (L&T) as the global risk environment improved on the back of better-than-expected US economic data.
ITC rose 1.15% after falling 2.3% this week as of Thursday close, while (L&T) rose 2.5% after falling 4.6% during the same period.
The Sensex rose 1.04% to end at 18,755.45, while the Nifty added 0.93% to end at 5,697.70. REUTERS
