Delhi high court issues notice to Kingfisher Airlines
PNB had challenged a 21 August order of a single judge allowing Kingfisher legal representation in wilful defaulter case
New Delhi: The Delhi high court on Monday issued a notice to Kingfisher Airlines Ltd in an appeal filed by Punjab National Bank (PNB) against an order of a single judge allowing Kingfisher to be represented by lawyers in proceedings to decide whether it is a wilful defaulter or not.
Kingfisher had earlier challenged a 21 August notice sent by PNB, which threatened to declare it a wilful defaulter if it did not reply to the notice within two weeks. In an order passed on 28 August, judge Vibhu Bakhru had given Kingfisher temporary respite by calling the denial of legal representation “unacceptable".
This order has now been challenged by PNB before Delhi high court bench of chief justice G. Rohini and justice Rajiv Sahai Endlaw. The case will come up for hearing on 15 September.
