Indian stocks gain on positive Asian markets

New Delhi: Easing crude prices and a positive opening in the Asian markets helped Indian stocks gain in morning deals. Japanese stocks gained after a five-day decline. Stocks were also boosted by a fall in Brent crude oil to $108.27.
Sensex: 18,354, +1.01%
Nifty: 5,505, +1.02%
Nikkei: 8,920, +3.7%
Topix: 801, +4.5%
Real estate, banking and power generator stocks are leading the gains in the morning deals. Short covering in these stocks are helping them register notable gains. These stocks had correctly sharply in the last couple of trading sessions.
BSE Consumer Durables: 5,877, +2.2%
BSE Realty: 2,087, +1.7%
BSE Bankex: 12,353, +1.5%
BSE Power: 2,566, +1.2%
Except for Hindustan Unilever, Hero Honda and GAIL, all stocks in the Nifty-50 pack are gaining. Banking and infrastructure stocks too bounced back sharply.
Reliance Infrastructure: Rs 640, +4.3%
Reliance Power: Rs 125, +2.7%
BPCL: Rs 586, +2.7%
ICICI Bank: Rs 1,017, +2.1%
