Kochi: Spices Board, a government trade promotion body, said it would start construction work on a 125-acre park dedicated to chilli at Guntur in Andhra Pradesh on Thursday .
The facility, in which the board is investing Rs25 crore, is the second in a series of spice parks being set up across the country.
The first spice park, for garlic and green chilli, is being set up in Chhindwara in Madhya Pradesh, while work on a third park focusing on chilli and turmeric will begin next week at Sivaganga in Tamil Nadu.
Spices Board has invited expressions of interest from registered spice exporters to set up units in the Guntur park, chairman V.J. Kurian said. All the units will have certification of international acceptance.
