Mumbai: Capital market regulator Securities and Exchange Board of India, or Sebi, on Wednesday said applications for initial public offerings, or IPOs, handled by banks under the new banking channel, must be treated on a par with the traditional cheque mode for purpose of payment of commissions.
This implies that banks will get commissions from the primary market issuers for handling IPO applications.
