Nikkei ends higher, reversing course as yen eases

Tokyo: Japan’s Nikkei average reversed course to end higher on Thursday, 22 November, erasing earlier losses that led it to a fresh 16-month low, as the yen eased its gains against the dollar.

The Nikkei ended up 0.3% at 14,888.77. During morning trade it hit a low of 14,669.85, the lowest since July 2006.

The broader Topix fell 0.1% to 1,437.38, after earlier dipping to 1,417.47, its lowest since October 2005.
