The month of July saw $913.4 million of private equity (PE) investments in Indian companies across 36 deals; a 23% rise over $745.3 million across 34 deals in the year-ago period. It, however, saw a decline of around 26% from the June figure of $1.23 billion.
The average deal size increased to $30.4 million during the month, from $23.3 million in the year-ago period. The year so far has attracted PE investments worth $7.14 billion compared with $4.78 billion in the year-ago period. The infrastructure sector topped the charts during the month, accounting for 53% of total deals. The retail sector came second with around 10% share.
