Mumbai: After yesterday’s recovery, Sensex was in the red again with a fall of over 86 points in opening trade on the Bombay Stock Exchange today on funds selling, triggered by weakening trends in global markets.
In similar fashion, the Nifty index on the wide-based National Stock Exchange lost 24.45 points to register at 3,786.75.
Major counters which pulled the Sensex down were Reliance Industries, Reliance Communication, Infosys Technologies, Wipro, Larsen and Toubro, Tata Motors and Maruti Udyog.
However, select cement stocks such as ACC, Gujarat Ambuja Cement and Grasim Industries were back in the positive zone after reports that some manufacturers have raised their product prices.
