Patni (10.2% up)
Shares of Patni Computer Systems Ltd ended up 10.24% on Friday after gaining 12.5% a day ago on the back of strong results. The firm will seek acquisitions in Europe and the Asia-Pacific to help lower its dependance on the US, chief financial officer Surjeet Singh had said on Thursday.

Tata Motors (6.6% up)
Tata Motors Ltd gained 6.60% on talks that the company might get loan guarantee approval from the UK government for the £340 million that has been sanctioned by the European Investment Bank very soon. The company is also looking to raise nearly $300 million via various options.

Tanla Solutions (8.3% down)
Shares of telecom infrastructure solutions firm Tanla Solutions Ltd ended down 8.30% to close at Rs57.45 on Friday on the National Stock Exchange after reporting dismal set of numbers with first quarter profit after tax down 82% due to UK operations.

Mundra Port (8% up)
The Mundra Port and Special Economic Zone Ltd stock gained 7.95% on Friday after the firm’s first quarter profit surged 76% to Rs170.75 crore. Mundra Port had shown a rise of 24% in cargo volumes compared with major Indian ports which have together shown a growth of 1.9%.

Hindalco (7% up)
The Hindalco Industries Ltd stock gained 7% after results that were better than expected. The company’s first quarter net profit stood at Rs480 crore, compared with Rs696.8 crore in the year-ago period against the markets estimate of profit to come at Rs226 crore.

Aban Offshore (4.6% up)
Aban Offshore Ltd ended up 4.62% after surprising markets with good set of results and board approved qualified institutional placement worth Rs2,500 crore. The first quarter net sales were 6% higher at Rs793.5 crore, and net profit was down 10.4% at Rs110.85 crore.

Shares of the state-run explorer Oil and Natural Gas Corp. Ltd (ONGC) ended up 5.72% to close at Rs1,164.05 on National Stock Exchange on Friday after the rumours that ONGC may make an announcement on Sunday regarding big oil or gas find.

TVS Motor (6.7% down)
TVS Motor Co. Ltd ended down 6.72% after reporting profit slightly lower than expected. The two-wheeler manufacturer on Friday reported a 7% rise in revenue to 988.70 crore for the first quarter ended June, against Rs 925.45 crore in the year-ago period.
